Creepy Cranberryaki Wings Win North Sound Brewery Wing Thing VII

I’m proud to announce that my wing recipe, Creepy Cranberryaki, took 1st place at North Sound Brewing’s Wing Thing VII. My name will be engraved onto the trophy along with previous winners. It’s a fun event and I suggest you come on out to NSB for the next one. Thanks to Kurt and the crew for hosting this!

The contest rules stated that you needed to use a beer in your recipe somehow so I chose one of my favorite NSB beers, Creepy Monkey.

Creepy Cranberryaki Wings

Ingredients
- 1.5lb cranberries
- 2tsp cinnamon
- 2.5 cups honey
- 2tsp salt
- 2 cups sambal oelek
- 1 cup Frank’s Original (not their wing sauce)
- 1/2 cup orange juice concentrate

Requirement: Pressure cooker.

1) Boil cranberries in a pot of water until they’re soft enough to mash.

2) Add cinnamon, honey, salt and reduce to thicken.

3) Add Frank’s and sambal.

4) Simmer for a couple hours to reduce and thicken the sauce.

5) Add orange juice concentrate.

6) Continue to reduce sauce until it’s thick and sticky.

7) Add the beer to your pressure cooker and pressure cook the wings on high for 15 minutes. Natural release the steam.

8) Put the wings into big bowl and pour your sauce over them. Stir with a wooden spoon to coat wings evenly.

9) Spread wings onto a foil lined baking sheet and broil in the oven for about 4 minutes, rotate each wing, and do 4 minutes more.

10) Enjoy!

If that sounds like too much work you can always order some already made Creepy Cranberryaki Wings from my store.
