COVID-19 Exposure Notifications

You can help stop COVID-19 by enabling exposure notifications on your smartphone.

How does it work?

Apple and Google worked together to create a way to anonymously perform COVID-19 contact tracing using your smartphone. This system exchanges random identification numbers with nearby smartphones using Bluetooth. If someone receives a positive COVID-19 diagnosis they can anonymously report that diagnosis through the phone and anyone who has been within close range of that person within the past 14 days will receive a notification on their phone that they may have been exposed to coronavirus and should get tested and/or quarantine.

How can I participate?

If you have an iPhone, enable Exposure Notifications in Settings.

If you have an Android phone you’ll need to download an app for your state. Washington State’s can be found here. Other states’ can be found here.

If you have privacy concerns about how this system works, please watch this short video.
