The Timeless Way of Living
Strategies, Tactics, and Tools to optimize health
We are ancient beings living in a modern world. Our biology has evolved over millions of years to thrive in the natural world, but we now find ourselves living very unnatural lives and eating substances that are designed for shelf life rather than human life. As a result many people today are overweight, sick, and tired. Ancestral health points the way out of this problem by reminding us of the food we need to eat and the ways in which we can live in order to thrive.
I’d like to share with you a way of organizing ancestral health care advice into a system that allows us to break down a lot of information into useable, actionable steps. Weight loss, health care, and disease prevention don’t need to feel so overwhelming.
This system consists of patterns of behavior broken down into Goals, Tactics, Strategies, and Tools.
You start with a Goal that you want to achieve in your life. A Goal is reached by successfully employing one or more Strategies. A Strategy outlines how you are going to achieve the Goal. A Strategy is implemented by using one or more Tactics. Several Tactics are usually employed to implement a Strategy. Tactics sometimes make use of one ore more Tools. Tools are usually a physical item or a skill you learn to use effectively.
In other words:
Goal: What future outcome do I want to achieve?
Strategy: How will I achieve this Goal?
Tactic: What actions will I take to implement this Strategy?
Tool: What things or skills will I use to employ that Tactic?
This is how we put this system into practice. First we identify a specific Goal such as: “I would like to lose 50 pounds.” From the list of Strategies we can pick Avoid Added Sugar. We then see which tactics we can use to avoid added sugar and choose two: Stop Buying Packaged Meals and Replace Sugar with non-sugar Sweetener.
If you apply this system to your life you’ll accomplish all of these things:
- You’ll lose excess body fat.
- You’ll sleep better.
- You’ll reduce, and possibly eliminate, your dependence upon prescription medications.
- You’ll improve your immune system.
- You’ll need to buy smaller and better fitting clothes.
- You’ll enjoy food more and eat less of it.
This is an unfinished work and I will be expanding it with more Strategies, Tactics, and Tools as I receive feedback and organize my content. Recipes coming too. Thanks for reading!
